Sen. Katie Britt (R-Ala.) questioned Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over the border crisis at a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing on Nov. 8.
She asked Mr. Mayorkas if a border wall could be “part of the answer” to the problem of illegal immigration and national security, to which Mr. Mayorkas answered with a straightforward “no.”
Ms. Britt then reminded him of the wall around President Joe Biden’s Delaware vacation home that the DHS helped to build, and declared, “You do know walls work!”
