Three clinics in Alabama are now halting in-vitro fertilization treatment.

This comes after the state supreme court ruled that frozen embryos are children.

The case began when three couples had frozen embryos destroyed in an accident at a fertility clinic. The Alabama Justices ruled that the couples could sue over the deaths of their minor children—even for unborn children, the court said, “regardless of their location.”

NTD spoke with Shawn Carney, the president and CEO of the organization 40 Days for Life, to hear more about his arguments in favor of the decision and what he would like to see happen next.
