Young UK voters don’t support Theresa May in parliamentary election

Young U.K. residents came out in force for the parliamentary vote. They helped Prime Minister Theresa May’s Conservative Party not gain control of Parliament.

Many young people found the Labour Party addressed the concerns of students better.

May was seeking Conservative Party control to back Brexit negotiations.

Preliminary estimates show that 72 percent of 18- to 24-year-olds voted in the June 8 parliamentary election.

In order to keep the government together May allied her party with the Northern Ireland Democratic Unionist Party.
