UPDATE: YouTube is back online after widespread reports of no access.
According to Down Detector, thousands of YouTube users were experiencing a platform outage around 9:15 p.m. ET on Oct. 16.
YouTube later posted to Twitter that they were aware of the reports of access problems. YouTube said that their YouTube TV and YouTube Music content was experiencing issues and that their team was working on resolving the problem.

The police department in Philadelphia quipped during the service outage that they were also experiencing problems accessing the website and then asked people not to call 911 because “we can’t fix it.”

YouTube, which is owned by Google with its headquarters in San Bruno, California, is the third-most visited website on the internet. The website has 1.9 billion active users per month as of September, which makes up about one-third of internet traffic.
