The YouTube star known as Ninja said that his mom faced pressure from doctors, who told her she should abort him.

Instead, Tyler Blevins, 29, told supporters while playing Fortnite on a live stream broadcast on Twitch, she chose to continue the pregnancy and gave birth to him.

“Those of you guys who don’t know, I was not supposed to be born. A lot of the doctors told my mom that I had spina bifida or Down Syndrome or a number of diseases and that I should be aborted,” Ninja said.

“But anyways, she said no to all the doctors. … Fast forward nine months after that, I was born, nothing wrong with me. My mom is a saint and an angel and I love her to death.”

“And it’s one of those things where had she listened to one of those doctors or even one of those people, you guys wouldn’t be here. No one would be in this room,” he added.

The footage was shared by the Movie to Movement YouTube channel recently, run by pro-life activist Jason Jones.

Jones said his son told him about Ninja’s video and praised Ninja for sharing about the situation. He said Ninja made the disclosure on his birthday, in early June.

Mother’s Day, Others

Ninja shared a video on Mother’s Day showing him surprising his mother with a “Sports Center” he created for her.

During the video, he said: “You always taught me that God has a plan, and for that I thank you so much and I love you so much for that. He then hugged her before adding: “Mom, all I want to do is keep being the man you raised me to be and bring as much joy into other people’s lives as you do into others every day.”

Ninja’s mother, Cynthia Blevins, told her son: “I love you son. I’m so proud of you.”

Ninja is the number 1 streamer on Twitch, a live streaming video platform, with over 475 million channel views and over 14 million followers, according to Social Blade.

According to Reuters, his financial compensation includes a $1 million deal he signed earlier this year with Electric Arts.

A number of other celebrities have previously shared that their mothers ignored advice to abort them.

Nick Cannon shared in a 2005 music video how his mother was told to abort him, sharing: “I love my mother for giving me life.” Cannon later called abortion provider Planned Parenthood  “modern-day eugenics.”

Justin Bieber’s mother revealed in 2012 that she became pregnant with him while she was a teenager and was encouraged to abort him.

“I just knew I couldn’t. I just knew I couldn’t. I just know I had to keep him,” Pattie Mallette told the “Today” show. “And, do the best. I—you know, I didn’t know how I was going to do it. But I just knew that I couldn’t—I couldn’t abort. I had to do my best. I had to see what I could do. And I was determined to do whatever it took.”
