The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a series of recalls on Dec. 18 affecting 11 products sold through Amazon, Walmart, and other major retailers.
The recalls involve approximately 143,780 units across 11 different products. Many of the dangerous items have already been purchased by consumers and remain in homes across the country.
Among the most critical recalls are those involving children's products. The CPSC warned that a Schwinn Ovation Bicycle Child Carrier could fail during use, potentially dropping children from bikes. According to the agency, the carrier's buckles can release unexpectedly, being a serious fall hazard. About 650 of the black carriers with gray seat cushions were sold through Amazon and Schwinn's website between May and September 2025 for $190 to $230.
Pacific Cycle, the manufacturer, is offering full refunds. The company can be reached toll-free at 877-564-2261 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Central Time on weekdays, or through email at [email protected].
Also listed is a product likely found in children's bedrooms and play areas. Furnulem 8-Drawer Dressers and KKL Fabric 9-Drawer Dressers both pose tip-over and entrapment risks if not anchored to walls. These violations of the STURDY Act, which mandates stability standards for clothing storage units, could result in serious injuries or death. About 16,800 Furnulem units and 4,740 KKL units have been sold on Amazon for approximately $80 to $100 each since 2023.
Consumers are instructed to secure these dressers to walls immediately or dispose of them. Both companies require photo evidence of disposal before issuing refunds.
Toys present another danger category. Meaicezli Play Purse Sets contain button cells and coin batteries that young children can access and swallow. According to the CPSC, swallowed batteries can cause internal chemical burns and death. About 3,090 of these pink play sets were sold on Amazon from August through October 2025 for approximately $15 each.
Pool safety was also among the concerns. Two separate recalls involve above-ground pools sold between 2021 and 2025. SereneLife brand pools and Blue Wave brand pools, both 48 inches and taller, feature compression straps that create footholds allowing children to access pools even when ladders are removed.
About 80 SereneLife pools and approximately 13,400 Blue Wave pools are affected by the recall. SereneLife is offering full refunds, while Blue Wave is providing free repair kits. Consumers must drain pools or remove them from access to children immediately, the agency warned.
The CPSC also recalled TopHomer Pool Drain Covers, citing violations of the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act for entrapment and drowning hazards to swimmers and bathers. About 1,040 white plastic drain covers sold on Amazon from August 2024 through October 2025 for $15 to $26 fail to meet entrapment protection standards.
Household electrical safety is another concern. ANNQUAN Power Strips lack required overcurrent protection, creating fire risks if overloaded. About 11,200 units sold on Amazon from December 2023 through October 2025 for $15 to $40 have been recalled. Consumers should stop using these immediately and contact Hefei Juyuan Sporting Development at 401-998-3366 for refunds.
Two medication recalls also made the list. Mamisan Pain Relieving Topical Ointment and Feel The Beard Minoxidil Beard Growth Serum both violate child-resistant packaging requirements of the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. Young children could swallow both products, causing serious injury or death.
About 50,330 Mamisan ointment jars were sold at Walmart and Target locations nationwide and through Target.com for approximately $10 each from April through October 2025. Plantimex is offering free replacement lids that properly secure the product. Consumers should immediately place jars out of children's reach.
Feel The Beard is replacing recalled growth serum bottles. About 840 units sold on Amazon from April through September 2025 for approximately $10 each require destruction before replacement units are sent.
Adult bed rails also pose entrapment dangers. JOKOSIS Portable Bed Rails violate mandatory safety standards because users can become trapped within the rails, or between the rail and mattress. About 12,000 black bed rails sold on Amazon from August through November 2025 for $40 to $50 are being recalled.
All recalls offer full refunds or repairs. The CPSC said that consumers should stop using recalled products immediately and contact manufacturers through provided phone numbers, email addresses, or websites.
"Consumers must take these warnings seriously," the CPSC said through its recall announcements. "Swift action prevents potential injuries or death."
