2-year-old boy rescued from 50-foot well

No mother wants to hear, “Our brother has fallen down the well!”

Two-year-old Daniel Pascu was playing in his siblings, under the eye of his 9-month-pregnant mother.

She turned around to get a glass of water. Before she could fill the glass, the shouting started.

Her children had removed the well cover. Her son had fallen in.

The well was only a foot wide. An adult could not descend. The only option for emergency workers was to dig down 50 feet.

Daniel was alive when rescuers reached him. He was given first aid and taken to a hospital.
