Utah officials arrested 21 individuals and rescued 3 victims as part of its Human Trafficking Rescue Operation.
Utah County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Jason Randall said undercover officers posted on social media platforms as part of the operation.
The officers responded to advertisements and set up a meeting place in the northern part of Utah County. They arrested the suspects when they arrived.
Some of the men reportedly believed they would be meeting with a 13-year-old girl.
Randall said the arrests don’t even scratch the surface of Utah’s human trafficking problem and that officers will continue to conduct undercover operations.
