Auschwitz Museum Conserves Children’s Shoes

A state museum in Poland has launched a two-year effort to preserve the shoes of 8,000 children that were the victims of a Nazi death camp. Many of the shoes are now warped and are in a state of decay, yet they serve as emotional testaments of the young lives brutally cut short.
