Mally Smith, Democratic Party strategist and former Harris campaign North Carolina political director, and Republican strategist Katie Frost, joined a panel discussion with NTD to discuss President Donald Trump’s arguments against birthright citizenship on Truth Social ahead of Wednesday’s oral arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court.
The panel discussed how birthright citizenship has been abused, and how the language of the 14th Amendment, describing “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof,” is being granted more weight than actual presence in the country.
The panel also discussed the authority of U.S. Customs and Border Patrol to deny entry to a pregnant woman coming into the United States on a tourism visa, and the policies of the Obama and Biden administrations and their refusal to enforce it.
The panel also discussed the effect on American elections when foreigners use, or misuse, the 14th Amendment to the Constitution for political purposes.
