Matt Klink, president of Klink Campaigns, joined NTD to discuss the original intent of birthright citizenship—and how that original intent does not have any bearing on the birth tourism industry today.
Klink said the justices appeared skeptical of changing this policy by means of an executive order. He also says birthright citizenship is being abused all over the world.
Klink said he gives credit to President Donald Trump for trying to resolve the issue, but that the blame belongs to Congress for its inaction on the immigration issue.
He said that while Congress needs to get involved, Democrats see these new citizens as potential future voters, while Republicans want to end illegal immigration.
Klink said birthright citizenship is not an issue that can be resolved by executive order.
Klink also discussed his expectations for Trump’s address to the nation, including his outlining the U.S. military’s accomplishments in Iran and his assuring Americans that gas price increases will be temporary—as a secure Middle East will mean lower prices in the future.
Klink also said he expects strong criticism of NATO.
