All patients admitted to Children’s Mercy Hospital, who were victims of the Super Bowl rally shooting on Feb. 14, have been discharged, the hospital confirmed on Feb. 17.

“We have great news to share—all patients have been discharged from Children’s Mercy. We will not be scheduling any press conferences or participating in interviews this weekend,” according to an official statement by the hospital.

The shooting killed a 43-year-old mother and left 22 others injured, of whom 12 were hospitalized. Nine of the patients were children.

It happened when shots were fired into a crowd of several thousand people at the Kansas City Chiefs victory parade at Union Station.

The hospital previously stated that all those treated were expected to make a full recovery.

Marlene Bentley, a spokesperson for the hospital expressed gratitude for all the support received following the incident, in a statement on Feb. 17.

“Thank you for your support and grace with our team members this past week,” Ms. Bentley said.

“Remember to take some time to care for yourself as well, especially our friends in the media that were at the parade/rally that day,” she added.

Three shooting victims remain in care at University Health, formerly known as Truman Medical Center, one of whom is in critical condition. The two remaining victims are reportedly in stable condition and improving.

Lisa Lopez-Galvan, mother of two who worked as a DJ for a local radio station, was killed on-site in the attack after succumbing to her injuries shortly after being hit by gunfire. The radio issued a statement after her death, as reported by People magazine.

“It is with sincere sadness and an extremely heavy and broken heart that we let our community know that KKFI DJ Lisa Lopez, host of Taste of Tejano, lost her life today in the shooting at the KC Chiefs’ rally.”

“We are still learning about her, but know that she is beloved by many,” Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves said at a news conference on Feb. 15.

“To her family and friends, we are with you and we are working tirelessly to investigate her murder,” Ms. Graves continued.

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas was one of the people running to escape the chaos following the shooting. He told reporters that he and his family ran out of Union Station in fear for their lives, as did the teams’ players and their spouses, and staff members.

The shooting took place as the Kansas City Chiefs celebrated their second consecutive Super Bowl victory, following their win over the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas on Feb. 11.

The team released a statement following the tragedy: “We are truly saddened by the senseless act of violence that occurred outside of Union Station at the conclusion of today’s parade and rally. Our hearts go out to the victims, their families, and all of Kansas City,” it read.

“We are in close communication with the Mayor’s office as well as the Kansas City Police Department. At this time, we have confirmed that all of our players, coaches, staff, and their families are safe and accounted for. We thank the local law enforcement officers and first responders who were on-scene to assist,” it added.

Police have arrested three teenagers in connection with the shooting, two of whom were charged on Feb. 16 and will likely face more charges amid the on-going investigation. The third teenager was later released without charge.

According to Ms. Graves, the motive is unlikely to be related to terrorism. Instead, Ms. Graves said, it likely related to a dispute between several people that got out of hand and ended in gunfire.
