China’s military is on alert. The central government has reportedly told troops to be ready to move to the North Korean border.
This is according to Hong Kong-based “Information Center for Human Rights & Democracy.”
All troops stationed in China’s northern military zone have been asked to enter level 4 combat readiness, as well as some in China’s four other military zones, adding up to 25,000 troops.
The units will take up to 4 to 12 days to arrive at the border once they receive the command.
Previously, there were various reports of the Chinese government deploying 150,000 troops to the North Korean border over the weekend.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry has not confirmed the reports and remain ambiguous about the matter.
The move comes as North Korea threatens to launch its sixth nuclear test on April 15.
The U.S. Pacific Command last week ordered the Carl Vinson Strike Group to towards the Korean peninsula.
North Korea has vowed retaliation.
