Connecticut Audience Thrilled to See Shen Yun: “I am in Heaven”

Shen Yun Performing Arts opened this season’s tour at the Palace Theater in Waterbury, Connecticut, on Dec. 22, 2017, treating audiences to an exhilarating performance of classical Chinese dance and music.

Lori Blackwell, owner of a 30-year-old Connecticut family business, said she was deeply touched by Shen Yun’s performance.

“If they say, there is an old soul, regenerated, maybe that was my culture. Because as a little girl, the precision, the honor, is what I loved,” she said.

After watching the Shen Yun performance, she used one word to describe her feelings.

“Oh, I am in heaven. Heaven. Good word, heaven,” she said.

Also attending the opening performance were the Jacoby couple who said they had always wanted to see Shen Yun. This year, their wish was fulfilled, and they described being deeply moved by Shen Yun’s beauty.

“I loved the colors in the background and how they matched the colors of the dancers. It was beautiful. The grace and the talent. And I could see the meaning, the feelings coming out in the dance,” said Carole Jacoby. “I loved it.”

Husband Raul Jacoby, a certified public accountant, said he found the performance “elegant, flowing, beautiful, colorful.”

“I’m going to be recommending it to my friends to come watch it,” he said.
