Fraud, waste, and abuse in the federal government is an issue that has burdened taxpayers for decades. The national debt is a staggering $36 trillion and climbing, with no clear solution—until now.

President Donald Trump took bold action by creating the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). With the aid of tech billionaire Elon Musk, DOGE's efforts have already identified billions in cuts and resulted in the firing of thousands of federal workers, with plans to potentially fire thousands more.

Critics say the cuts are random and reckless. Lawsuits are piling up, aiming to stop DOGE in its tracks. And major questions are emerging about the legitimacy of Musk’s role and the speed at which the cuts are being made.

Meet our panel: Richard Manning, president of Americans for Limited Government, and Lee Neves, a Democratic strategist. They join host Chris Beers to discuss the potential costs and benefits of the DOGE financial reckoning.
