The U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran are leading some observers to imagine a future of China without the Chinese Communist Party.

Guoguang Wu, Senior Research Scholar at Stanford University posted on X saying that knowing Iranians crying tears of happiness makes him tearful. Wu wrote he wishes fellow Chinese could celebrate such a day in the near future.

Allen Zeng is a China affairs analyst. He believes that even though regime change in China isn’t likely in the short term, the strikes on Iran are accelerating the Chinese regime’s downfall as it shows the Chinese people that the Chinese regime isn’t that powerful. Zeng notes that the death of Iran’s supreme leader provides the Chinese people with an example of a possible alternative future.
