Girl Scouts of the USA unveiled a new addition to its iconic cookie lineup, announcing that Exploremores will debut during the 2026 Girl Scout Cookie season.

The rocky road ice cream-inspired sandwich cookie features chocolate, marshmallow, and toasted almond-flavored crème filling, Girl Scouts said in a press release on Tuesday. The organization said the cookie reflects "the spirit of exploration at the heart of every Girl Scout."

Girl Scouts nationwide will sell Exploremores both online and at local booths alongside established favorites, including Thin Mints and Samoas, also known as Caramel deLites in some regions.

The introduction of the new cookie comes after the company retired two flavors earlier this year. In January, Girl Scouts discontinued Toast-Yay! and Girl Scout S'mores cookies following the 2025 season.

"Discontinuing Toast-Yay! and Girl Scout S'mores may lead to something new and delicious," a Girl Scouts spokesperson said in January. The organization said it routinely assesses its cookie portfolio to accommodate new offerings.

The cookie program serves as more than a fundraising channel, functioning as an entrepreneurship training ground for girls. Girls develop leadership abilities and business ethics while pursuing skill-building badges, including My First Cookie Business, My Cookie Customer, and My Cookie Team.

"Girl Scout Cookie season is about so much more than selling the iconic cookies people know and love," the Girl Scouts USA Chief Revenue Officer stated in an earlier announcement. "The sweet success of each sale is a testament to how much girls can change the world when they put their minds to it."

Through the cookie program, participants "push their limits, embrace challenges, think creatively and believe in their own potential," the company said in its latest announcement. The initiative teaches goal-setting, decision-making, money management, interpersonal skills, and business ethics.

Revenue generated from cookie sales stays within local Girl Scout councils and troops to support year-round programming. Proceeds fund "life-changing programs, experiences and learnings all year long."

The 2026 season will focus on enhanced creative opportunities through a new partnership, according to the company. Girl Scouts partnered with Adobe as a national sponsor of the cookie program, with the collaboration aiming to "encourage girls to express their individuality and think creatively to advance their goals."

Cookie availability varies among different regions due to the organization's dual-baker system. Little Brownie Bakers and ABC Bakers produce the cookies, with recipes and ingredients sometimes differing slightly between manufacturers, according to the Girl Scouts website.

Regional naming differences also exist for certain cookie flavors. "Whether the package says Peanut Butter Patties or Tagalongs, or Samoas or Caramel deLites, the cookies are similarly delicious," the organization's website states.

The current cookie lineup includes Thin Mints, Samoas/Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs, Adventurefuls, Caramel Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter Sandwich/Do-si-dos, Lemonades, Lemon-Ups, Toffee-tastic, Trefoils, and now Exploremores.

Girl Scout Cookie season typically runs January through April nationally, though specific dates vary by location. Customers can sign up for notifications about Exploremores availability or text "Cookies" to 59618 for updates.

The cookie program supports the broader mission of Girl Scouts of the USA, with the company touting itself as the world’s largest girl-led organization.
