Gunpowder may be explosive, but did you know it makes beautiful art

Have you ever seen art made with gunpowder? Danny Sherwin is an artist based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and is creating beautiful pieces of art with — gun powder.

The artist places grains of gunpowder on a wooden board, and when arranged in the final position he lights the gunpowder. Just as paint and brush will leave marks on a canvas the gunpowder leaves burn marks on the wood.

When the flames went out, no gun powder is left — therefore it is safe to handle — and if you want you can buy some of his artworks.

If you want to see how it’s done, click the videos and see the birth of a gun powder baby owl, and a majestic deer emerge from the fire.
