Hidden Protest: Artist on Hong Kong Censorship

A digital billboard that contained hidden references to activists was taken down last week in Hong Kong, in one of the latest cases of censorship in the city. Digital artist Patrick Amadon, who’s based in Los Angeles, incorporated pro-democracy protestors’ names, ages, and purported crimes into his artwork. He told NTD he created the piece to focus attention on the erosion of freedom of expression in Hong Kong, and to show solidarity with the people there.
