Amazon has responded to the Federal Trade Commission’s lawsuit, which alleges the company is operating an online retail monopoly. The company, however, says the suit could lead to higher prices and slower deliveries for consumers. The FTC alleges in its antitrust lawsuit that Amazon forces sellers to use its delivery services and warehouses, driving up costs for consumers and sellers alike.

NTD hears from Jeffrey Tucker, Epoch Times Senior Columnist and the founder and president of the Brownstone Institute, who says the FTC’s lawsuit is weak. Mr. Tucker questions the FTC’s understanding of “fairness,” given that “business is hard; competition is tough”—and questions why consumers and sellers are still using the platform if they are being exploited like the commission alleges.
