An Alabama mother shared a photo that encapsulates what many kids feel on the first day of school.
Jena Willingham posed for a photo with two of her kids on their first day back, and her youngest on his first day at school.
Her kids can be seen with their bags, looking glum, while Willingham is on an inner tube in a pool, holding a celebratory drink, and a beaming smile.
“My kids have been fighting all summer, so I kept telling them I was counting down to the first day so I could have a pool day alone,” she told Huffington Post. “Since my youngest was starting this year, it would be the first time in 11 years I didn’t have a baby at home.”
She posted the photo on Facebook, where’s it been shared thousands of times.
“Happy First Day of School everyone!” the Salem, Alabama, resident wrote.
Wrote one person, “And just like that… your dream of being on Ellen DeGeneres may come true.” Added another: “The Lil girls face is the killer.”
But her day wasn’t all that relaxing.
“I didn’t actually get to have a pool day today because I was babysitting my cousin’s 2-month-old,” she told HuffPost. “But I plan to on one of my upcoming off days!”
