Inflation came down to 5 percent year over year, compared to 6 percent previously, while month-over-month inflation was nearly unchanged in March compared to February.
Some contributing factors for the drop: Energy prices fell substantially, driven by lower bills for utilities and gasoline, and used car prices were down as well.
