What sounds more educational, and more fun: a field trip to the beach in Hawaii, or a standardized test? And which one prepares a child best for the real world? There is quite a lot of debate on that question, with some saying the field trip opens new doors. We wanted to find out a little more about this open-ended approach, so I spoke with a mother who is “unschooling” her three children.
