Fla. Gov. Ron DeSantis went toe-to-toe with Calif. Gov. Gavin Newsom in a Thursday night debate hosted by Fox News’ Sean Hannity.
NTD spoke to Aaron Kall, the director of debate at the University of Michigan debate program, who pointed out that Mr. DeSantis can be adjudged to have come out on top in the debate. “DeSantis is a much better debater than he was previously,” said Mr. Kall.
This may have been due to his practice in the GOP debates of recent months, as well as his use of a debate coach. Meanwhile, Mr. Newsom may have made a case among both Democratic voters as well as more moderate Fox News viewers for a mooted 2028 presidential run.
