Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has said people should not be criminalised for stating simple facts on biology. His statement comes as author J.K. Rowling hit out at Scotland’s new hate crime law, which came into force yesterday.

Sarah Pederson, a professor at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, gives her insights on the new hate crime law now in force in Scotland.

Professor of politics Sir John Curtice says the hate crime law has caused controversy for all political parties, and not just within the Scottish National Party. He spoke to NTD UK news earlier.

The UK has called on Israel to immediately investigate the deaths of British nationals in an airstrike in Gaza. Israel said the 3 British aid workers, along with four colleagues, were killed in an “unintended strike” by Israeli forces.
