Taylor Hathorn, visiting fellow at the Independent Women's Forum's Center for American Safety and Security, joined NTD's Steve Lance to discuss the implications of the United States' forthcoming designation of the Venezuelan Cartel de los Soles as a foreign terrorist organization.

Hathorn spoke of how the designation will bolster U.S. efforts to crack down on narco-terrorism coming from the region against the United States.

She also discussed the opposition from some congressional Democrats to President Donald Trump's strikes on the alleged drug-carrying boats, the larger picture of Mexico and China's role in drug trafficking, and how the U.S. military's posturing around Venezuela affects China's influence in the region.

Hathorn also spoke about the deepening fallout between Japan and China, as well as the Chinese Communist Party's foreign policy toward Japan and other nations. Hathorn drew from her experience in cybersecurity to analyze the White House's allegations that the Chinese technology giant Alibaba is sharing American customer data with the People's Liberation Army.
