Over 270 COVID-19 subvariants emerged in China within seven days. The country’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention made the announcement last Saturday.

Authorities discovered the subvariants from April 14 to 20 as Chinese media reports say residents are posting their positive virus test results online revealing that many are getting re-infected.

In a social media post, an internet user from southwestern Chongqing shared that her husband and two children caught the virus once again. Though so far, their symptoms have been mild.

In another post, an internet user from Nanjing said her entire family was re-infected about three months after they fell sick the first time.
