The FBI raided the homes and offices of a Chinese-American media mogul and three others late last month over concerns about possible foreign influence.

James Su is the chief executive of Chinese-American media company EDI Media. Two Southern California elected officials and an attorney were also targeted in the investigation. Federal agents searched their homes and offices, but no arrests have been made.

The FBI has not disclosed why it's investigating the case. But a source familiar with the matter told the New York Post the investigation involves alleged public corruption and possible foreign influence.

Su, a naturalized U.S. citizen, founded EDI Media more than 30 years ago. He built it into a multimedia company spanning television, radio, digital publishing, and film festivals.

In 2022, the company registered under the Foreign Agents Registration Act for distributing a Chinese state-run newspaper.
