Democratic strategist Mally Smith, and Republican strategist and CEO of Real America Vote Marly Hornik, discussed with NTD's Steve Lance the implications of Meta's $17 billion settlement, and the harm that social media companies have caused children.

Hornik said the settlement shows the moral bankruptcy of Meta and how they want to hide from true accountability of the company's knowledge and marketing tools. Smith said he believes Meta does not want to release records that will show its product was addictive and giving children content they should not have seen. He said the outrage against social media harm to children has bipartisan support and called for a national law for age-appropriate algorithms.

Smith also discussed the implications of the California law dubbed the "Stop Nick Shirley Act," which would restrict investigations, saying it should not be upheld.
