10:45 a.m. ET—The New Year's Eve countdown begins soon in Hong Kong. At 11 a.m. ET, the city welcomes in 2024 with a 12-minute fireworks musical—the largest New Year's Eve firework display the city has seen—over the iconic Victoria Harbour.

12 p.m. ET—Thailand rings in the New Year with a countdown and fireworks display over the Icon Siam department store by Bangkok's Chao Phraya River.

3 p.m. ET,—The UAE celebrates the arrival of the New Year with a spectacular fireworks display at Dubai's iconic Burj Khalifa (Courtesy EMAAR).

5 p.m. ET—Fireworks over the Parthenon temple and the Acropolis mark the arrival of 2024 in Athens, Greece.

6 p.m. ET—Berlin welcomes the New Year with fireworks at the Brandenburg Gate landmark.

6:15 p.m. ET—Britain rings in the New Year with the midnight chimes of Big Ben resonating through central London.

9:30 p.m. ET—New Year's Eve revelers in Brazil gather in Rio's Copacabana beach for a spectacular fireworks display.

11:45 p.m. ET—Thousands of revelers fill Times Square in New York to watch the ball drop on New Year's Eve.

12 a.m. ET—Midnight arrives in New York.
