Secretary of State Marco Rubio testified before two Senate committees Tuesday on proposed cuts, departmental restructuring, and recent foreign policy moves. Some lawmakers pressed him on reductions to foreign aid, while others praised him for advancing the president’s agenda.

Trump was on Capitol Hill Tuesday, working to rally support among divided House Republicans for his multi-trillion-dollar budget bill, which he has dubbed the “one big, beautiful bill.” Some lawmakers continue to express concerns over proposed budget cuts and changes to tax credits.
