With just hours left before government funding is set to expire, Democrats and Republicans are holding their ground, raising the likelihood of a shutdown. Federal agencies are bracing for impact as they prepare to furlough thousands of workers.

At the White House, President Donald Trump, joined by Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, announced that Pfizer will significantly lower drug costs and invest $70 billion in U.S. research, development, and other projects. Trump said the medicines will be available for direct purchase through a new federal website called TrumpRx.

Speaking to top military leaders at Marine Corps Base Quantico today, Trump said America is facing “an invasion from within.” He highlighted the deployment of troops to Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., to protect federal buildings and curb crime, and discussed plans for additional deployments to Chicago and Portland.
