Secretary of state Antony Blinken has expressed the United States' support for Israel to its Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. "You may be strong enough on your own to defend yourself, but as long as America exists, you will never, ever have to. We will always be there by your side."

An official with the Hamas terrorist group stated on Russian TV that the group had been planning the attack on Israel for 2 years. Ali Baraka said the Palestinian people would be patient and withstand Israeli counterattacks. "Our allies are ready to join the fight," he claimed.

Meanwhile, an orthodox Jewish man—who has decided to remain anonymous—paid for 250 plane tickets for Israeli reservists at New York's JFK airport on their way back to Israel to fight Hamas.
