Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed lawsuits against China’s security camera-maker Lorex and online retailer Temu, alleging both companies have ties to the Chinese Communist Party. The legal actions mark the third and fourth cases Paxton has brought this week targeting companies over alleged connections to China.

One of the lawsuits alleges that Lorex failed to disclose that some of its security cameras contain components made by Dahua, a Chinese company previously blacklisted by the U.S. government over national security and human rights concerns.

In a separate complaint, Paxton accused Temu of operating what he described as “spyware disguised as a shopping app,” alleging it could expose Americans’ data under China’s national intelligence laws.

Neither company immediately responded to requests for comment. Paxton said Texas will take action to protect consumers’ privacy and security.
