Artificial intelligence (AI) is playing a strong role in the U.S. military’s blitz on Iran, according to an active‑duty U.S. senior military officer.

U.S. Central Command Commander Brad Cooper revealed a portion of U.S. military strategy during a March 11 CENTCOM briefing on Operation Epic Fury.

“We're on a path to eliminating Iran's ability to threaten Americans and our friends, and we are achieving this through a combination of lethality, precision, and rapid innovation,” he said in a video <a href="https://x.com/centcom/status/2031700131687379148?s=46">posted on X</a>.

That innovation includes advanced AI tools that shorten time-consuming processes.

“These systems help us sift through vast amounts of data in seconds so our leaders can cut through the noise and make smarter decisions faster than the enemy can react,” Cooper said.

President Donald Trump pre-emptively attacked Iran on Feb. 28, alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Israeli Defense Forces.

The U.S. initiative is called Operation Epic Fury and the Israeli mission has been named Operation Rising Lion.

Since Feb. 28, U.S.-Israeli strikes have sunk some 60 Iranian ships, struck more than 5,500 targets, leveled drone factories, and neutralized 80 percent of Iran's missile launchers with what Cooper called "a variety of precision weapons systems."

On March 10, he said U.S. bomber forces also hit a large ballistic missile manufacturing facility.

“We had strike waves nearly every hour from different locations and directions going into Iran," Cooper added. “We also took out the last of four Soleimani-class warships. That's an entire class of Iranian ships.”

Soleimanis are Iranian catamaran missile corvettes that have potential stealth features, according to Washington Institute <a href="https://www.washingtoninstitute.org/policy-analysis/new-iranian-warship-signals-longer-maritime-reach-more-aggressive-strategy#:~:text=Nadimi%20wrote%20about%20the%20new%20Iranian%20warship,*%20**Advanced%20decoy%20launchers**%20Can%20be%20carried">data.</a>

They are named after Iranian Major General Qasem Soleimani, who was assassinated by the United States in 2020.

Iranian forces struck a residential building in Manama, the capital, killing a 29-year-old woman and injuring eight people. An Iranian drone hit Ruwais in the United Arab Emirates, where there are petrochemical plants, and six Iranian drones were destroyed by Saudi Arabia and Kuwait’s National Guard.

Cooper, however, accused Iranian forces of deliberately targeting innocent civilians in Gulf countries from highly populated Iranian cities.

He concluded his update with praise for the U.S. Space Force for allegedly degrading Iranian capability and helping to protect American forces.

“We are clearly exercising air superiority over vast swaths of Iran,” he said. “We have the most integrated air defense umbrella in the Middle East and our defensive operations from the Army, Navy, air Force, Marine Corps, and Space Force teams are performing magnificently.”
