An ICE agent shot and killed a woman who threatened law enforcement during targeted operations in Minneapolis, according to federal authorities on Wednesday.

The “violent rioter” attempted to use her vehicle to ram into law enforcement in what authorities have described as an “act of domestic terrorism.”

“An ICE officer, fearing for his life, the lives of his fellow law enforcement and the safety of the public, fired defensive shots,” Assistant DHS Secretary Tricia McLaughlin <a href="https://x.com/TriciaOhio/status/2008957179793998266">wrote on X</a>, adding that he utilized his training in the response.

The incident happened at 34th Street & Portland.

The demonstrator was identified as 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good, according to a joint statement by Minneapolis City Council members.

An undisclosed number of immigration officers were hurt in the process but are expected to make full recoveries, Assistant Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Tricia McLaughlin said.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) described ICE actions as <a href="https://x.com/Ilhan/status/2008994804043063640">“reckless”</a> in a social media post and called for a full investigation into the incident.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, during a press conference, dismissed the federal government's statement that the officer acted in self-defense, citing a video that he watched of the incident.

He also demanded that federal agents leave the city and claimed that they are not making the streets safer and only causing chaos.

"Somebody is dead, that's on you. And it's also on you to leave," Frey said.

Preliminary information indicates that the woman was in her vehicle and blocking the roadway, according to Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara.  At some point, an officer approached her vehicle and she began to drive away.  The incident then escalated, O’Hara said during Wednesday’s press conference.

Several videos taken by bystanders and shared on social media show an officer approaching a black SUV stopped across the middle of the road and trying to open the driver’s side door. As the SUV drives away, a different officer standing in front of the car fires shots toward the driver. The car then sped into two cars parked on a curb nearby before crashing and coming to a stop.

A bystander in the videos can be heard screaming in shock at what they witnessed.

President Donald Trump shared on social media that he watched a clip of the incident and pointed out an ICE officer was standing in front of the vehicle.

“The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self defense,” Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115855701696773990">wrote on Truth Social.</a>

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz said in a press conference later Wednesday that he’s “angry” over what happened but won’t let the Trump administration tear Minnesota apart.

Life-saving measures were performed at the scene and the woman was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead, according to the police chief.

The ICE officer has been hospitalized but is expected to recover, according to Trump.
