NYC Poised to Slash Regulations on Smaller Housing Projects

New York City is in the midst of a housing crisis, and that is partly due to limited supply and too much red tape surrounding the development of housing projects. Mayor Eric Adams is taking unilateral action to get rid of what have been found to be pointless environmental reviews to fast-track these small- to medium-scale projects, saving the housing ventures as much as two years and up to $100,000 in costs.

NTD sat down with the president and CEO of the Partnership for New York City, Kathryn Wylde, who said the plan is a good idea, as a big factor in New York’s high housing costs is the long delays in approving such projects.
