A man who was terrorizing a community while fully naked in northern Virginia has been arrested.

The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) announced it had arrested 21-year-old Sederick Walker in an early-morning stakeout on April 13. Police used overhead drones and caught Walker attempting to enter a home. Walker had been burgling neighborhoods for more than a month, entering homes through unlocked doors in the pre-dawn hours, always completely naked.

"Today, at 4:45 a.m., detectives were in the 14000 block of Gatwick Square in Centreville, conducting a stakeout when a detective monitoring surveillance cameras spotted a naked man walking nearby," FCPD said in a press release on April 13. "Officers with our Drone Unit, prepositioned to assist detectives on the operation, immediately responded within 30 seconds. Detectives attempted to stop the naked man, but he fled on foot with a detective chasing him."
"Detectives from the Real Time Crime Center launched an additional drone to assist in tracking the man. The naked suspect was seen jumping a fence into the backyard of a home on Gatwick Square. Detectives prepared a search warrant for the residence and were eventually able to take Sederick Walker, 21, of Centreville into custody."

Burgling Around in the Nude

According to a police investigation, Walker is responsible for a string of burglaries in the town of Centreville, dating back to March 5. Four nights in a row, Walker entered a home through an unsecured door.

In the first incident, a victim was getting ready for work when he encountered Walker in a bedroom. In the second incident, a homeowner found a footprint on a trashcan up against a fence, which was allegedly used to enter the backyard. In the third, the victim's dog alerted the homeowner to Walker's presence, only for Walker to flee after being spotted. In the fourth, the victim heard footsteps in the hallway before catching him standing in the doorway before fleeing.

Walker resurfaced on April 1, when home surveillance video captured footage of Walker, again fully nude, with a covering over his face. In this incident, Walker was seen attempting to open the sliding glass door of a home; when he was unsuccessful, he fled into some woods nearby.

At an April 13 press conference, Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis confirmed that no one had been injured. Commander of the criminal division Major Jim Curry added that detectives had been looking for him since the April 1 incident, but there had been no incidents between then and Monday. Police apprehended him outside his home, in one of the neighborhoods he had been sighted in.

Walker was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he is currently being held without bond. He is charged with burglary, two counts of breaking and entering to commit a misdemeanor, four counts of indecent exposure, two counts of trespassing, wearing a mask in public, and obstruction of justice.
