Prime Minister May says Britain will adapt to meet changing terrorist threat

British Prime Minister Theresa May said the nation’s police and security service are reviewing and updating all their terrorist protocols.

One of the three London Bridge attackers was known to police.

Shazad Butt had appeared in a TV documentary “The Jihadis Next Door.” His neighbors said he was radicalizing children.

Britain has seen three attacks in three months. All involved people the police had noticed but marked as dangerous.

Some question whether the security forces have the budget to do the job. May is considering giving the police more resources.

“I will look at giving more powers to the police and the security service, longer sentences for terrorist-related offences, dealing with this issue of the Internet and ensuring there is no safe space online for terrorists, and dealing with extremism online as well,” she said on June 6.

May pointed out that the police succeeded more often than they failed.

Over the last three months we’ve had three horrific, terrible attacks in the United Kingdom,” she stated. “We’ve also seen the police and security services foiling five other potential attacks.”
