Qatar wrapped up completion of the first stadium to be involved in World Cup 2022. The stadium was originally built in 1976, but was revised and updated in preparation for the competition.
It was expanded to seat more than 40,000 people. New cooling technology keeps both the pitch (field) and the stands at optimal temperatures for comfort.
Qatar has more to build before the competition starts. The country has been criticized for its labor practices. Some have died during construction of both this and other facilities.
