Jones, 41, was in the back seat of a gray Mercedes SUV ,with four occupants, that was proceeding erratically down Interstate 85 southbound.

Investigator Jeremy Wood with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office saw the vehicle drift across several lanes of traffic several times and decided to make a traffic stop.

According to Chief Deputy James Yarbrough with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office, Investigator Wood hit his flashers and the Mercedes pulled off the highway . Instead of stopping the driver ran the stop sign and tried to escape.

Wood got ahead of the fleeing vehicle several blocks down the road, at which time the vehicle rammed his police cruiser.

When Wood got to the driver’s side window, he saw that the Mercedes was full of smoke and smelled of marijuana. He ordered the occupants out of the car.

A search of the vehicle revealed two knapsacks, both packed with drugs.

One contained 23 Oxycodone pills and a loaded Titan .25-caliger pistol.

The other bag held Jones’ passport, and Oxycodone and Percocet pills, THC oil, and $48 cash.

Police also recovered a Ruger SR 9mm handgun that had been reported stolen from Dekalb County in March, and marijuana during their search of the vehicle.

Jones claimed he had prescriptions for the pills, and that he knew nothing of the guns or the marijuana. He also claimed that he had tried to convince the driver to stop but that she was “incoherent” and instead tried to escape.

The driver of the car, identified as Ana Rajnee Miles, 23, was charged with aggravated assault, fleeing/attempting to elude police, theft by receiving stolen property, narcotics possession, marijuana possession, dangerous drugs to be kept in original container, aggressive driving and failure to maintain lane.

Passengers Darnell Maurice Wright, 31, and Jamal Rajhun Smith, 32, were charged with narcotics possession, marijuana possession, and possession of firearm during commission of a crime. Smith was also charged with theft by receiving stolen property.

Jones was released on $7,000 bail. According to entertainment gossip site TMZ.
