The Reality television star Mama June Shannon and her boyfriend were indicted by a grand jury on drug possession charges, according to multiple reports.

The Blast reported the charges were handed down by the grand jury for the pair in the state of Alabama, according to court documents.

“The Grand Jury of [Macon County] charges that before the finds of this Indictment June Shannon, alias June E. Shannon, whose true name is otherwise unknown to the Grand Jury, did unlawfully possess a controlled substance, to-wit: Cocaine,” the documents read, according to PEOPLE.

“[Shannon] did unlawfully possess a controlled with intent to use to inject, ingest, inhale or otherwise introduce into the human body, drug paraphernalia, to-wit: a pipe,” the documents read further.

PEOPLE reported that Shannon’s boyfriend Eugene Edward “Geno” Doak, was also given the same charges as Shannon.

The pair had a misdemeanor and a felony charge, according to PEOPLE. The bond set for the two was $11,000, and the pair are required to appear in front of a jury. Should the pair be convicted of those charges, they could both serve time in prison, the media outlet reported.

On Sept. 13, an arraignment was set for the pair to appear in court, but they did not show up, according to a spokesperson for the Macon County’s District Attorney’s Office, located in Alabama, the Blast reported. There will be another court date arranged for the pair, but no definite date has been set yet.

Shannon, along with her boyfriend, were arrested for drug possession in March of 2019, according to Fox News. The news outlet reported police were made aware of their situation after a domestic dispute occurred at a gas station. Authorities were able to find evidence of crack cocaine and a glass pipe.

TMZ reported that Doak had been arrested previously on charges of drug possession and domestic violence. Fox News reported that in addition to those charges, his criminal history also included theft, burglary, and criminal damages to properties.

According to an earlier report by Fox News, an intervention was set for the reality star. The rest of the Shannon family alleged that Mama June Shannon is a drug addict. During the show “From Not to Hot: Road to Intervention,” Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson told Mama June Shannon that she was afraid to stay at the then-39-year-old’s house.

“Mama, I would love to come home and stay with you—tell you about my day, but I can’t do that because I’m scared,” said the then 13-year-old. “I’m not even going to lie to you. I’m scared to stay at your house.”

Mama June Shannon’s drug addiction has caused a rift in her relationship with her children, including her two daughters, Alana and Lauryn. Currently, Alana Thompson lives with her sister, Lauryn Shannon.
