US Commission on International Religious Freedom Holds Hearing on China’s Violations

Live Chat

The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom will hold a virtual hearing on China’s religious freedom violations from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. ET on Dec. 14.

The hearing will explore two interrelated aspects: the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) violations of religious freedom and the repression of religious communities in the country and abroad. The hearing will highlight China’s malign foreign influence through lobbying efforts in the United States, which has had religious freedom implications.

Witnesses will provide overviews of the CCP’s religious freedom violations affecting various religious communities in China and overseas, as well as policy recommendations for countering the CCP’s systematic, ongoing, and egregious religious freedom violations.

NTD will livestream the event.
