Republicans Oppose Juneteenth as ‘Independence Day’

Americans across the nation are getting ready to celebrate Juneteenth this weekend for the first time as a national holiday. Fourteen Republican representatives voted no to the new holiday, but why? One of them told NTD he supports celebrating the emancipation of slaves, but he opposes naming it Independence Day because he says this name divides Americans based on race.
