“I am delighted, I find it wonderful, it is a unique experience,” said María Ruiz Rodríguez, an interior designer. “I really love all the color, the elegance of the dancers’ movements, I love it. It is very beautiful, very surprising.”
“All of it is inspiration, full color, I love it, I love it,” she added.
Jezabel Martinez Fabra, a violinist and composer, said, “[Shen Yun] was special, because it wasn’t just music and dance, but something more. It was elegance, subtlety, professionalism pushed to the limit by every musician, every dancer. It was beautiful, and it had been a long time since I had seen something so lovely.”
Ms. Fabra said: “I loved the soloist, I thought she was a virtuoso, and there were moments that sounded like baroque music, it even reminded me of Vivaldi, the virtuosity, the tempo changes she made, slower notes, longer notes.
“I paid close attention to the movement of the bow, very similar to that of the violin, and at the end those crescendos, that increase in speed, also with the intensity she used, it seemed to me that it was no longer a virtuoso and an instrument but rather everything was a unity, which she did phenomenally well,” she continued.
“That fusion, the artist often merges with their instrument, and that’s when they achieve that magic, because there is no longer a mind, nor is there a body moving, but rather everything is harmony.”
Shen Yun’s classical Chinese dance performances are accompanied by a live orchestra, colorful costumes, and a patented digital backdrop, all of which combine to convey the beauty and goodness of a divinely-inspired heritage.
“It seemed to me that [Shen Yun] spoke to all human beings; it seemed like a universal message to me,” said Ms. Fabra. “I think it’s a show that, without words, only with dance, images, and sound, conveys a message of unity, harmony, tolerance, and above all, kindness.
“[Shen Yun] is something that reaches you very deep inside, it is very deep, really very deep,” said Ms. Rodríguez.
She added, “It is unique, there are many theaters and shows, but this is very unique, truly very unique.”
