“Absolutely incredible to watch their performances today,” said Dr. Naima Smeulders, a surgeon.
“The fact that they work so carefully as one unified team was so impressive. And I thank them for their tremendous hard work and the enormous effort they put into bringing to life their history and their story,” she said.
“I think it’s very important in today’s world, where we are confronted by communist China, and that is the China that is presented to us, that there are other forms of Chinese culture and Chinese history that still can survive beyond communist China,” she said.
Traditional Chinese culture is said to be divinely inspired, and many of the stories shown on stage focus on themes such as benevolence, justice, and wisdom.
Property Developer Pamela Codrington said the performance was “almost beyond what you could expect any human being to produce.”
“I really, really congratulate the whole company,” she said. “It’s beautiful, it’s interesting, it’s exciting. I just can’t think of anything nicer.”
“I was extremely touched by the woman who played the mother of the son who ... was blinded,” said business owner Antonia Codrington. “The way she portrayed her grief brought tears to my eyes. I thought it was very beautiful and very profound.”
Senior Occupational Therapist Maria Horton appreciated the values portrayed on stage.
“We are too fast-paced in our society, and we need to have some time to appreciate the beauty of nature, the beauty of what God’s given us with our abilities, and to be able to share that, and it brings joy. It was wonderful to be a part of today,” she said.
