“It tells a beautiful story, a beautiful story of China, of ancient China. I’m enjoying every second, I didn’t miss a moment. It’s fabulous,” said Danny Essabri, a former restaurant manager.
“I was transported from beginning to end,” said Akima Zampaglione, a business owner. “Above all, it was full of emotions. You could see the discipline, the kindness, and so much magic.”
“It’s fabulous, so aerial, graceful, and athletic. I imagine it must be very physically demanding,” said Philippe Chaillou, a business owner.
“It’s very harmonious, full of elegance, balance, and refinement,” said Marie Chaillou, a French and literature professor. “Honestly, it doesn’t even look like they’re making the slightest effort, even though it must be the result of intense training. Everything feels light, effortless, and it’s simply extraordinary.”
Mr. Essabri said: “I think there’s an incredible level of professionalism in this show. These people are well-trained, respectful, disciplined.”
“It’s wonderful, almost magical. There’s really no other word for it, because at every moment you’re amazed by everything happening on stage and behind the scenes. And the interaction between the stage and the 3D backdrop—honestly, I’ve never seen anything like it,” said Floréal Martinez, a former factory manager.
Shen Yun’s orchestra blends classical Western and Eastern instruments, creating a unique musical experience, which impressed many of the audience members.
“There’s a harmony between the dancers and the orchestra that is absolutely remarkable. It’s timed to the second. It’s fabulous,” said Ms. Chaillou.
Mr. Martinez said: “There’s this authentic music where the Chinese sound really resonates. And the baritone who sang, the quality is truly top-notch.”
Shen Yun has been touring the world since 2006, and has grown to eight different companies, bringing an all-new performance every year.
“It’s like being on a journey,” Ms. Zampaglione said. “Just experiencing it makes you forget everything else during the show. You feel something almost divine. You’re completely transported.”
Mr. Essabri said: “I’d say you have to see this show to understand how things were before. The past is important, and even today it matters, but what it was like back then is so beautiful, so natural, so wholesome. I think [Shen Yun] should be shared on a large scale, and people should be told to go see this show, it’s truly worth it.”
