“The magnificent dance scenes, especially the costumes and the precision and perfection of the dances performed, it’s truly sensational. It’s really top-class because the choreography is very difficult, and that's why I see it as something sensational,” said Jean-Jacques Baur, owner of the Aux Deux Clés restaurant.
Thierry Barras, who works in wealth management, said: “They’re exceptional. I can imagine it takes hours and hours, dozens of hours of rehearsal. I really enjoyed the set design, the costumes, and of course the choreography. It’s all perfectly orchestrated. It’s phenomenal.”
Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture from before communism. Shen Yun’s performances also expose the Chinese regime’s human rights abuses and brutal oppression of faith, which is one of the reasons the company cannot perform in China to this day.
Mr. Baur said: “I think it’s great. I was surprised to hear that they can’t perform these dances in their own country. It’s quite astonishing, even though it’s a culture that’s over 5,000 years old.”
Patrick Muller, a design engineer, said: “Because they can no longer express themselves in their country of birth, I think it’s essential that they have the opportunity to do so in the West. At least it allows them to return to their roots, which were taken away from them and denied them. So it’s a very good thing, and it should be supported.”
Dominique Gicquel, a former hair salon owner, said: “The show was very rich in colors and pictures, and the actors were extraordinary. Beautiful stories, short stories, I would say fairly typical, about good and evil. You find a little bit of all of that in these stories. I think it’s very well done, the colors are magnificent. What’s extraordinary is the backdrop with the characters that pop out of the screen. It’s in 3D, which is pretty amazing.”
“They’re all fabulous. The colors, the costumes, the grace, and their perfection is incredible. I love it, the music and everything. Even the music. It’s really fabulous,” said Marie-Paule Braconnier, a former hair salon owner.
“It’s a show that everyone should see at least once in their lifetime. It’s truly magnificent,” said Marina Muller, an executive assistant.
“We’ll leave with some wonderful memories,” Mr. Muller added.
