On the evening of May 4th in Frankfurt, Shen Yun Performing Arts wrapped up its run at Jahrhunderthalle Frankfurt, marking the end of the company’s tour in Germany this year. All four local performances sold out in advance, with audience members praising the performance for delivering a beautiful message and bringing a profound spiritual impact.

Rainer Raabe, managing director of a textile company, said, “It touches the heart. And it carries a powerful message within it. Most people will probably only see and hear the music. But the frequencies truly reach deep into the heart.”

"Wonderful, truly like a dream," said Felicitas von Au, a former global marketing executive. "I was just thinking earlier about what words I could use to describe it. It was magical, it was special, it was dreamlike, colorful, captivating, simply beautiful."

Stefan Lange, a bank IT engineer, said, “It was a truly fantastic performance. Absolutely vibrant and captivating. The richness of the colors and the harmony in the movements. They were absolutely captivating, and I would have loved to dance along.”

Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture—"China before communism," as the company says—through classical Chinese dance and music.

“I think nowadays it is very good to send these kinds of messages, this traditional reconnecting with one’s own culture, being peaceful, meditating, being centered within oneself, and bringing goodness into this world,” Von Au said.

“It’s about bringing back the connection and tradition again,” said Lange. "Strengthening people’s awareness of tradition. In this fast-paced and highly materialistic world, it is about reestablishing tradition and living and acting more consciously. I believe these eight companies can bring this to the world faster than just one alone. I think that is good."

Based in New York, Shen Yun simultaneously travels the world with 8 dance troupes, bringing an all-new performance each year, with brand-new dances, music, and backdrops.

“The music, and of course the dancers, the style of the dancing, the grace of the dancers, also the athleticism of the dancers, then this blending of the backdrop, the digital and the real, the gods who appeared, or the dancers who came down from heaven and then suddenly appeared on stage, that was also wonderfully done," von Au said. "The stories that were told, the insight into Chinese culture, it was very beautiful.”

“I would definitely recommend it to others,” said Lange. "And I would share exactly that, my fascination with it, and pass it along within my circle of acquaintances. Because I believe everyone can take something away from it. Whether it is simply the richness of the colors and the choreography, or the deeper meaning behind it. I believe everyone can gain something from it."

“Go see it," said Raabe. "Feel it. It is magnificent. So I can only recommend it to everyone.”

Shen Yun’s 2026 season spanned nearly half a year of global touring, with the company’s 20th anniversary world tour concluding in mid-May.
