World class dancers graced the stage at the SEC Armadillo in Glasgow on Feb. 5 and 6.
“It was something that I’ve never seen before, to the point where at points my heart was racing, but there was silence in the room. There were so many different elements of the show, visually, it was absolutely inspirational,” said Lisa-Jayne Rattray, a music theater lecturer and actress.
“There was an amazing variety, but over and above the costuming, the energy on stage, the orchestra was one of my most ... I mean, it literally took my breath away. As soon as they tuned up and they went away, it was incredible.”
Company owner Grant Reid said: “It takes you away from what’s happening in the world at the moment. It takes you to a better place.”
“I like the flow of the story, how it starts from the beginning and just the general flow and we move from one era to the next era to the next era,” he said.
“It’s very colorful. It’s very energetic. It’s lifting my soul to a higher plane, in fact,” said Robert Campbell, a physicist. “I’m really enjoying it and I’ve been meaning to come for a few years, and I’m glad I have made the trip.”
Theatergoers said they were deeply impressed by the artistry and depth of the performance.
“Spectacular, mesmerizing. I just marveled at the agility of such young people performing. I thought it was just incredible,” said Russel Hampton, a retired architect.
“It’s not just about China, but to see young people being able to perform so incredibly, the accuracy was what got me. Being in architecture, you tend to look for detail. Every little movement from the fingers to the wrist—it’s just total unison,” he said.
“Something I will never, ever forget,” he added.
“They give a very good message of love, humanity, which is great I think,” said Richa Goel, an artist. “I’ll definitely say to go and have a feel of it. I will not say that you go and see it. I will say that go and feel it.”
“I felt like, not only was it an artistic entertainment, it was an educational and historical education that I am so, so grateful to have received,” said Ms. Rattray.
